Time for Tea!
Another innovative idea for a unique event: a tea party! We customized these delightful tea party invites for a wedding shower with a personalized touch for the bride to be. A wonderful detail we’ve added to this invite is the “tea tab” that tells of the “blend” of the afternoon, in this case: “Tauri’s Blend, Wedding Bliss”. This is then used as the pull tab to extract the invite from its perfect little portable sleeve. These special 4x5 invites come with an outer envelope and can be done in the color of your choice. Completely customizable from the tea tab to the envelope, these invitations are sure to spark a trend.

Destination Wedding - Seating Arrangements
No musical chairs here! As the guests arrive, they're greeted by the fabulous hosts as well as an easel displaying an organized approach to seating assignments. Maintaining that elegance and simplicity of this couples wedding, we were able to use their guest list and create a very cost effective alternative to place cards. This seating chart is 18x12.5 making a perfect display at the entrance to a wonderful event We used a bold print so that several guests can take a look at once to find that special seat meant just for them. You can take a peek earlier in the blog to the invitations we custom made for this special event. Simple and effective for a perfectly exciting wedding!

A Special Touch - Addressed Invites
To all of those out there who have a stiff hand and a numb tongue from writing out addresses and licking envelopes, rest assured, let us take the load off and do it for you! For this couples wedding we did just that. All they needed to do was give us an address list using Excel, et voila!
We use a soft and elegant font that assures the excitement of the invitee before even opening to peek at it's contents. Previously in the blog I posted what's inside: a modern and fun floral invite!
For your next event, relax and let us do the hard work for you! It's a special, and necessary touch that's sure to please.
Garden Wedding at the Wichita Botanical Gardens
We just finished these custom designed 5x5 pocket booklet invitations for a couple with a cool and modern esthetic. Yet another perfect spring wedding, they decided to tie the knot at the Botanical Gardens in Wichita, Kansas. As you can see we do creative projects for clients all over the U.S. and the world! We used a fun chartreuse and white floral motif for this invite, and if you look closely, sealing the envelope you can see a sweet little butterfly uniting the initials of the betrothed. These invitations are great because they conveniently hold all the necessary invitation items in it's little pocket. Here we included a combined map/accommodations card (map is on the back!), and an RSVP with it's envelope. A funky and fun little invite!
Thursday, April 8, 2010
Well the big day has nearly arrived and we have these elegant invitations to prove it! Earlier in the blog I posted the “save the date’ and wedding shower cards that we did for my niece Shannon and her soon to be husband Jason. Picking a paisley motif in soft greens was the perfect choice for this exciting Spring wedding. And the trim we did in a wonderfully textured faux alligator-like skin, really accentuating the simple elegance of the invite.
Always jumping at the moment when anyone in the family is in need of some simply stated goodies, I was happy to make these up for them. It’s a 5x7 pocketfold invitation that opens to show a simple and clever enclosure where nicely tucked are the accommodations, map and RSVP cards. Another classy Spring event!

LaProvidencia - Charity Event Annual Cotillion
It’s time to dance and raise funds for LaProvidencia with their charity event, the annual cotillion. We just finished up their Habana themed invitation for this memorable event including the invite, a map and a RSVP all being presented with a Cuban flare. We even added a fun little dice sticker to seal the deal in celebration of the 'Casino Nacional' theme. The event is taking place at the Ebell Club of Los Angeles, yet another amazing educational and philanthropic organization. Because the event is asking it’s attendees to dress in 1930’s and ‘40’s attire, we wanted to have the invitation basking in a vintage light. I think we succeeded beautifully with these. Click here to go back in the blog to see the vintage-esque “Save the Date” card. This exclusive formal ball is a small event with only 300 invitees. So, we needed to make these invites classy and sophisticated for the honored group that gets to partake in this event.
Gracias LaProv!!

Fundraising Event - Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (CHAP)
The Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (CHAP) is bringing the community together in honor of Senator Edward M. Kennedy this May. An amazing nonprofit, thriving for nearly 20 years, has given the Northwestern Pasadena community an open door to health care. It’s a place where no one is declined service, no matter the circumstance. So it goes without saying that it was a privalage to be a part of this wonderful organization.
We just finished our custom design for their praiseworthy event. Using a tri-fold layout for the invitation, we were able to combine the subtle ambiance of a sailing theme along side the important text that fills its pages. The perforated tear off RSVP makes it easy for those who wish to attend. Sealed and ready to be sent we’re all looking forward to this fundraiser!
This annual fundraising event is to raise resources to increase access to healthcare to the residents of both Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area. Become a sponsor, get involved! Visit their website for more information.

Fantasy Frostings – Little bites of Heaven!
Last week I went to a “bridal bazaar” in Beverly Hills appropriately named: “Unveiled”, where they showcased a huge variety of vendors, couture bridal designers, nonprofits and more, all associated with the wedding industry. It was a day of sensory overload, with creative ideas and designs around every corner. The vendor that instantly grabbed my attention was Fantasy Frostings, a wonderful 30+ year business that just relocated here to Pasadena. They specialize in custom design cakes for any event and have been featured in magazines such as InStyle Weddings and US Weekly, where their celebrity cakes have been spotlighted. What they had on display at Unveiled were these delectable little treats that they call 'cakepops'. They were to die for!! They pose as lollypops, but once bitten, are revealed to be little bites of Heaven. Equally beautiful and delicious, these round balls of cake wrapped in frosting came in strawberry, chocolate and white chocolate. Let your mouth water while peeking at the photo above. Savor the goodness and check out their website, their cakes are absolutely exquisite!
Parents Night Out!
These eye-catching 4x6 postcards were designed for he PTA of Oak Hills Elementary. To be handed out to the student body, this night of “Vegas Style” fun is strictly for the parents! One night away from the kids, they get to enjoy a “Parents Night Out”. We made 700 of these 4x6 postcards, so you can imagine the extent of this event.

Bridal Brunch Invitation - It's all about gratitude!
The wedding process can be stressful and tiring, so this bride came up with a way to show her appreciation to those true friends that stayed by her side through thick and thin. For these custom thank you notes, she came up with the idea of giving back by offering a bridal brunch to her closest friends. This wonderful idea is transposed onto a 5.5x5.5 square card in shimmery white, mounted onto our 'Envy Green' base card that leaves a beautiful accent surrounding the invitation. To make her thank you sound and look as elegant as possible, we've also printed the envelope with the guest name and address. I'm certain her friends will be thrilled to attend another event hosted by her!
Rehearsal Dinner Invitation
A call to dinner is simply elegant with these custom black and white rehearsal dinner invitations. They are printed on 4x5.5 shimmery white card stock atop a black linen backing. Included with the invitation is an RSVP card without the linen backing. Radiating elegance, these invitations were just the beginning of what was to come.
It's all in the details! Detailed Wedding Program, Menu, Bar sign, and more
Modern and traditional style together created memorable mementos for this couple's big day. These programs feature the details of both the wedding and the party. Printed on both sides, one side with the wedding party details, and the other side consisting of the ceremony's details, the guests get take home a sophisticated reminder of this unique celebration. Along with these programs, the guests get to chose from a delectable menu that was framed and placed on each table. To fit with the theme, this couple also included bar details and wishing well instructions. To read more about the beginning stages of this design, you can go back earlier in this blog and read on!

Custom Wedding Invitation with Original Artwork
This couple have a friend that is a watercolor artist that helped make their special day unique and creative by painting an original design for their wedding invitations. We used an ecru linen card stock to print these beautiful invitations to match the texture of the artists canvas. As a result, these wedding invites look like an original piece of art! To make the package complete and organized we wrapped the pieces together using a vellum sash to sustain that organic and artistic look. This custom invitation itself is 6x9, perfect for a frame to appreciate the original artwork involved.
Baby Announcement for Evy - Lori Dorman Photography
Jenn and Ajay came to me with some amazing photos taken of their newborn Evy, in hopes that we could put something special together for them to let the world know that she was born. The photos are provided by Lori Dorman Photography which we chose our favorites out of over 100 beautiful shots. These 5x7 photo cards were printed on premium 16pt card stock with a soft matte finish. The top image is on the front of the card, and the bottom image is on the back, so no matter which way you look at it you get a chance to see this wonderfully photogenic newborn baby. We also included outer envelopes with their return address. Simply pure joy!

Custom Wedding Invitation, Serving Hundreds!
This event was a three day Indian wedding with over 400 friends and family attending. This couple wanted something traditional yet new and refreshing and we think we tackled it perfectly. Previously in the blog you can take a look at the beginning in's and out's of when we first began this fun and challenging job. There were so many minute details involved in these invitations including itinerary's, maps, menus, placecards and more. Not to mention the details to the elephant which was the first thing the invitees would see. We used a dark red and ivory color palette and placed three sapphire crystals on each elephant as a decorative embellishment to complete the look. This was a challenging feat to say the least! Three crystals on each elephant hand placed for about 400 invites... you do the math! In the end the result was stunning, completely worth every effort. Take a look for yourself!

Custom Wedding Invitation...for Tony Romo?
Well, let me start by saying no, we did not do invitations for the Tony Romo's wedding. But when your mom is a custom wedding invitation designer and her daughter comes home from accounting class with a project to plan an entire wedding, (budgets, plans, invites, and all), you just have to let her design her dream wedding with her dream groom! This is what my beautiful daughter thought up and designed. Take a peek!

Destination Wedding Invitation
Talk about romance! This lovely couple decided to have an intimate destination wedding abroad followed by a local celebration when they returned. Serving two purposes, this invitation is not only an invite to their reception, but it's also an announcement saying "We tied the knot!!" Using a combination of orange and burnt red, these invitations reflect their locale of Arizona. On these mini 4x5 invites we added a lovely calla lily motif and a vellum sash to hold the front flap and RSVP in place. As an added step we addressed them and dropped them in the mail as well. Anything to keep the romance alive, well and stress free!

It was our pleasure Nancy, Happy Birthday!!

Pasadena Police Activities League Fundraiser
Being involved with the community is incredibly rewarding. We had the honor to design and create all event collateral for this years fundraiser for the Pasadena Police Activities League. Aka PAL, the league is a youth crime prevention program that relies on educational, athletic, and other recreational activities to develop and maintain a bond between police officers and the youth of the community. This year they are honoring former Pasadena Police Chief Bernard K. Melekian. The theme is a spin off from Cirque du Soleil, entitled "Cirque du PAL". Included in the three page sponsor packet is an invitation with an honoree insert, a "Save the Date" postcard, and an RSVP. Keeping it green by saving paper (and costs!), we used an 'envelofold' which encases the invitation, and holds the inserts inside. Serving it's dual purpose as an envelope, once folded, we added a sticker with the PAL logo to keep it closed. We also printed the return address and bulk rate permit for easy mailing. Thanks PAL! You have our support!!
